Curt Hayes is an Audio/Video/Automation systems integration veteran, with over 20 years in the industry. In addition to business ownership experience and a degree in marketing, he has outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills. As an A/V systems designer, he combines these skills with vast experience in sales, operations, project management, installation and programming to produce extremely thorough and detailed proposals and project documentation.

Curt is President and founder of BlueDog Data Services and Audio Design, Inc. in Deerfield Beach, FL. Upon graduation from Texas A&M University in 1988, Curt went to work at Preston Trail Audio in Dallas, Texas.

There he spent years representing the finest audio products available, learning the business first-hand from industry pioneers including Dan D’Agostino (Krell), John McIntosh (B&W) and Noel Lee (Monster Cable). As Vice President, and later President, he spearheaded a sales and marketing effort that established the company as one of the leading high-end audio retailers in the region. In 1991, the SMU Cox School of Business and “The Dallas 100” recognized Preston Trail Audio as one of the fastest growing businesses in Dallas. Curt later co-founded HomeTECH, Inc. There he served for seven years as President, selling the company in late 2000.Curt was involved in all of the activities of the custom installation business including sales, administration and operations. This experience culminated in his development of a comprehensive production builder program, which was successfully launched in 1999. In addition, he developed and wrote detailed policies, procedures and standards that covered all areas of the business. Prior to founding BlueDog Data, Curt worked for Media Design Associates in Ft.Lauderdale, Florida. As Vice President of Business Development he implemented the policies, standards and procedures developed in his prior companies, quickly leading Media Design from start up to #43 on the CEDIA Top 100 Dealers list with annual sales in excess of $4M.He was responsible for launching a separate “Communities” division targeting condominium developers in South Florida, leading to agreements for seven projects with over 1,500 residences in the first 18 months. Additionally, he created a customized software application allowing the company to quickly create accurate proposals and thorough engineering documentation.

Curt has been an active member of industry and executive organizations, including The CEO Institute of Dallas, CEDIA, the NAHB and PARA. He has also been involved with CompTIA and The Chauncey Group, a nationally recognized testing and certification organization, to help develop the standards for an HTI (Home Technology Integrator).

DOUGDODD

Doug received his professional Bachelors of Architecture from Virginia Tech in 1989. The following six years he served his country initially as a Field Medic (US Army Reserves), then as a Tactical Satellite & Microwave Operations Specialist (US Army-Italy).

Returning to the civilian sector, Doug’s career continued to evolve. The major stepping stones include positions as an architectural intern, designer with a high-profile Palm Beach interiors firm & owning an IT consulting business.

Doug began his tenure in the Home Automation & Integration industry in 2001. Working with some of the most respected firms in the industry (ISR, Audio Advisors, Paragon Technology Group, CWB Technologies), he has assisted in the development of & held many positions within the typical integration firm.

Through continued manufacturer certification & involvement with CEDIA, Doug continues to combine his passions for design, music & luxury consumer electronics remaining on the cutting-edge of technology. Drawing on his diverse background, Doug has leveraged his understanding of the many languages spoken in the luxury residential building community to help pioneer “Outsourced Design” and now considers his position with Audio Design a perfect fit.

Doug personal interests include his passion for creative photography, spending time exploring the world with his amazing wife Flo and introspective time with his cat Karma.
